It’s no secret that reproductive rights are under attack. The government wants to allow employers to not cover birth control and at the same time they want want to abolish abortion in the United States. For too long women’s reproductive rights have been decided by men. Reproductive rights made many strides in the last century; from the invention of the pill to Roe vs. Wade, and somehow here we are in 2020 fighting for the basic health care we deserve. We believe that abortion is a fundamental feature of health care — and as access to abortion care becomes more restricted, the organizations working to keep abortion accessible become even more important.

The organizations featured on this map form a network of reproductive rights champions who work tirelessly to ensure that their clients have access to the healthcare they need. Some of these funds have years of experience and others are newer, popping up in areas that are long underserved and in desperate need. We believe that supporting small local funds is an effective way to fight for reproductive rights. These organizations know their communities, they know their needs, and they fight for them.

The challenges low income women face are disproportionally affected by state laws that seek to slowly dismantle access to abortion. The organizations on this map work to address this need by offering financial assistance to women seeking abortion care in their area. We applaud their work, and want to support their efforts to make abortion accessible for all women.
